Like a colourful, tailor-made hat ...this is what the Lüsen and Rodeneck Alm
look like for true hiking fans. It is one of the most beautiful Alpine meadows in South Tyrol and the Dolomites. During the summer, it offers a lush, green carpet with yellow, red and blue blobs of colour from marigolds, Alpine roses, gentian and Alpine mountain lakes. In particular, Lake Glittner is outstanding with its sheer beauty! There are many traditional and genuine refuge huts
where tired and hungry hikers can enjoy a break after a fantastic hiking trip, indulging in roasted pancakes with cranberry jam or a snack of bread with cheese and South Tyrolean speck, a glass of cold wheat beer and afterwards a ‘real’ cappuccino.
During the winter, the Alpine meadow is covered by deep snow and you will need snow-shoes
in order to make your way past feeding troughs with hay for the wild deer. As a wonderful side effect, you will be able to enjoy the magnificent 360 degree circular view of the Alps and Dolomites
in the winter wonderland of the Lüsen Alm. It’s not snow-shoe hiking enthusiasts who can indulge in the beautiful landscape
, but there is also 30 km of cross-country trails
for cross-country skiers
– all very well prepared. Many people look at the Lüsen Alm and call it the most beautiful Alpine meadow in the entire South Tyrol and Dolomite region.
