Because the locals stayed with unspoiled nature and its long-lasting powerful effect on people, ski lifts and large cable cars were never established in Luson. Because of that, Luson is an oasis of quiet and recreation in the silence of the untouched landscape, especially in winter. And so Luson became a pioneer in the Alps for gentle winter sport: Snowshoe hiking, winter walks, cross country skiing and tobogganing.

The directional snowshoe hiking trails with wonderful views of the Dolomites lead over Malga di Luson or on hiking trails in the nature park at the end of the valley to the Alpine huts that offer refreshments in the winter. Through snowy Alpine meadows and coniferous forests past snow covered rustic huts and feeding troughs for dear and chamois snowshoe hikers leave their traces in deep snowy white gold like in a winter wonderland.
