The itinerary of the Peitlerkofel is a little bit demanding, so we advise you to follow this itinerary only if you have alpine experience and make sure to take a minimum of climbing equipment with you. The approach to the Peitlerscharte is the same as described in No. 17 (the round on the Peitlerkofel) At the Peitlerscharte we turn left and a path leads us in north-eastern direction to a groove. From there we follow the serpentines to the rocky area and to the wide saddle at the starting point of the peak path (2765 m) The climb is short and the wire cable makes it easier as it looks. A path leads us on the flat slope to the peak of the Peitlerkofel (2875 m). For persons, who prefer not to hike on the rocky slope, there is the easier track to the peak of the Little Peitler (2813 m) which offers also an impressing view. Afterwards we hike back on the way we came.
