Aferer Geisler - mount Tullen (2655 m)

Itinerary of geological interest – impressive panorama of one of the most beautiful peaks of the Dolomites.

Duration:
5 h
Length:
10 km
Difference in height uphill:
980 m
Path number:
4 - 25
aferer-geisler
The itinerary requires practice and alpine experience. From Lüsen we drive in direction of Gunggan – Halsl (16 km) to the parking lot Russiskreuz (1729 m) The path GM - 32A leads us in southern direction and upwards through the woods to a rocky terrace (wire rope). From there we turn right and walk uphill on the grass pastures to the saddle Furteschelle and to the southern part of the crest of Afers (from here we have an impressing view of the Geislergruppe). We follow the path (mark GM), which leads us uphill through the pasture slopes of the alp Kofelalm and further in north-eastern direction to the col Tullenkar. Once we passed it, the path turns left in northern direction and continues in serpentines to the eastern crest (Attention: Its very steep!!!!) to the peak of mount Tullen (2655 m). We return to the valley on the same way.
