Mount Plose and the high itinerary of Brixen

Interesting itinerary on the mount Plose – Enjoying the beauty of the valley of Brixen

Duration:
4 h
Length:
9 km
Difference in height uphill:
440 m
Path number:
7 - 6 - 30
Break:
Mountain station Restaruant La Finestra, Plosehütte, Ochsenalm
maurerberg1
We drive on the main road from Lüsen in direction of Brixen, turning left at the junction for St. Andrä and driving further until we reach the valley station of the cable car Plose (1067 m) (also bus connections). From here we can either take the cable car to the mountain station (2050 m) or we drive further in direction of Palmschoß to the parking lot Kreuztal (2030 m) Once we are at the mountain station we follow the path (mark 7) in north-eastern direction until we arrive at the mountain refuge Plosehütte (2446m) From the refuge we hike on the path (mark 6) towards north, along the crest (technical plants) to the leveled peak of the Mount Telegraph (2487 m) A spyglass is located at the western edge of the plane. Now we follow the path downhill (mark 6) next to the northern crest, passing the peak Leonharder Kreuz, to the wind gap Plosescharte (2221 m) We walk downhill along the western slope to the alp Ochsenalm (2085 m). We hike back in southern direction on the high itinerary Brixner Höhenweg (mark 30) until we reach the mountain station. Alternativ the descent directly to Lüsen: once we are at the alp Ochsenalm, we continue our hike behind the hut to the fount "Brandweinbrünnl" where we continue our hike through the wide wooden area until we reach the refuge Nivenol (1586 m). Then we hike downhill to the valley Kaserbachtal and further to Lüsen. Hint: For more experienced hikers we suggest to follow the itinerary from Lüsen to the Plose through the romantic valley Kaserbachtal. Height metres 1520
