Difference in height uphill:
1240 m
This difficult and long itinerary requires alpine experience, practice and a good head for heights as well as good weather. We start from the parking lot Russikreuz (1729m), where we follow the itinerary as described to the mount Tullen. At the bifurcation to the peak of the Tullen we turn right in eastern direction. After passing a rocky groove we walk upwards to the crest and afterwards to the rocky northern slope on steady plates (the most challenging part) until we reach a wind gap. From here we turn right to the peak Wälsche-Ring (2646m). Now we hike in the crest area and down the southern slope in eastern direction following the path until we reach a short ladder. On the northern part we get to the eastern grass slope. Descending in north-eastern direction we reach the path Peitlerscharten-Steig, from where we get to the wind gap (2357 m) In the ditch of the wind gap, next to the treeline, we find a deviation to the left on which we walk along in western direction, passing the meadows Kofelwiesen and the woods. Afterwards we get on the road Halsl-Strasse and finally to the parking lot Russiskreuz.
